Concept for the Residency
“The Reverse is at the same time an action and a situation.
It is an event that causes a change in perspective, an unexpected action that shifts the dynamics of our time.
My new project once again addresses the familiar subject of duality and the double.
In the creative stages, the concept of the double moves away from the psychological and introspective to explore the fate of contemporary culture and social coexistence.

Three dancers and a performer share a landscape that is open, perhaps evoking the moon or outer space. The Reverse skips about, hoping to defeat gravity, and looks around accompanied by the sound of a classic, a symbol of the culture of peace, hope, and respect for existential complexity: the Dark Side of the Moon created in 1973 by the great Pink Floyd.
The four performers engage with words that nowadays ring empty: power, freedom, and self-restraint among others.
Having eradicated all sense of beauty and compromised every artistic skill, my intellectual perception lays down Concepts and throws itself into the Reverse, following the wake of homologation, phenomena, talent, diversity, and the ordinary.
We will allow our body to study actions in the Reverse, going back to the origin of an impulse that leads to the creation of a chorographical image. Every side has its Reverse: the coming together of the parts and the perspective is the very meaning of every human relationship and the reason for every artistic act.
The texts I have drawn on include the work of Camus, as well as that of Marion Fayolle, a French illustrator born in 1988. Her insight is instrumental in bringing a touch of irony to the score. The literary discourse of Le Monde Renversè – The World Upside down - is a fundamental presence.
Seeking to understand the present and the transition from the society of Entertainment to the society of Performance, I have also drawn from the thinking of the philosophers Maura Gancitano and Andrea Colamedici, founders of the project Tlon in 2015.
