A man and a woman with two large heads, containers for memories, ambitions, fears and neuroses. Two heads so swollen and heavy that they impede movement and paralyse expression. A love story of the absurd for two awkward characters. Strangers to each other, they speak and move with rhythms and times that have different flavours. They observe each other curiously and gauge the space that separates them, a limit that protects them within an area that they know, a soft line that tempts them. At times they want to cross it to touch the presence that seems to be so similar. There is a growing need for dialogue, the need to tell their tales. Their only means is the body, which gains meaning through movement, finding common resonances, counterpoints and gestures that become communication.

Traparentesi is a group dedicated to performance research and experimentation with Erica Mattioni, Giulia Marcelli, Alex Nazzi and Francesca Zolli. It was founded in 2011. The group uses a hybridisation of theatrical language to develop their research in two directions. On one hand, they probe the language of the body and all its implications as an element of scenery, on the other hand, they collaborate with other artistic forms of representation to mingle their thinking with multiple influences in the search for new aesthetic syntheses. The project Testoni has been developed by Erica Mattioni, author and performer with Traparentesi, and Martina Tavano, a dancer and performer from Friuli, who trained at the “Scuola del Balletto di Toscana” and at the’“Hochschule für Musik und Tanz” in Cologne.
