How does love begin? When does it appear? Why is the search for it a constant in our lives? 'Histoy of Love' is a one-woman show that attempts to tackle the impossible task of understanding what love is. The performance unfolds through a dual dramaturgy: on the one hand, it explores historical perspectives on love; on the other, it presents contemporary love through the performer's personal experience. From which perspective is this supposed history of love presented to us? Are the protagonist's experiences really her own, or are they ours? Agrupación Señor Serrano presents this quest by examining the myth of El Dorado: the promise of a city full of treasures hidden in the middle of the jungle, the search for which has caused chaos and destruction. Love is a promise that has been rewritten and transformed over time, yet it remains one of the main drivers of our existence. Why do we seek love? What do we expect to find? Is it a place, a destination or an expedition?
All of this unfolds in a space that is part laboratory and part rubbish tip, where the actress discovers objects, remains and waste from the History of Love, which she uses to activate the plot. History of Love uses live video, performance, objects and physical theatre to unfold in front of the audience.
