Text created during the Ecole des Maîtres 2020-21 for playwrights directed by Davide Carnevali
Finalist at the 56th edition of the Premio Riccione per il Teatro
UBU Award 2024 as Best New Italian Text / Dramaturgic Writing
With great tenderness and desecrating irony, Bidibodibiboo recounts the choices and renunciations, dreams and great fears of a generation grappling with a dramatically ruthless world of work.
Written during the Ecole des Maîtres 2020-21 by Francesco Alberici, Bidibibodibiboo, now being directed and performed by Alberici himself (Ubu Award 2021 as Best Actor/performer under 35) is a vitriolic portrait of the disastrous situation in the world of work today.
Bidibibodiboo, a finalist in the 56th edition of the Premio Riccione per il Teatro, recounts the travails of a young employee: hired on a permanent basis by a large company, and perhaps targeted by a superior, the young man slowly falls into a persecutory spiral that turns the hours spent at work into a nightmare. The jury of the 56th edition of the Riccione Theatre Prize underlined how ‘with an effective and measured composition, the author tells with dry verisimilitude and effectiveness, the protagonist's fall into the corporate underworld: attacks, shame, dismissal, omission, liberation.’
Running time: 105 minutes
